Maryanne's Philosophy: Great Relationships Begin Within!

Most of us want everything fast—fast food, fast cars, fast Internet connections—we don’t have time to waste, so give it to me fast, fast—fast! As a result, we live in a culture where we associate fast with good. There is one area where we all need to slow way down—and that’s relationships! What I have to tell you might just save your life; at minimum, it’s what you need to know before you drop your drawers!

No matter what anyone tells you, it takes work to have a good relationship—including the one you have with yourself. Not to worry, though, because I am here to help you create and expand your tool belt.

The most important tool and the foundation for architecting healthy, sustainable relationships is Tool # 1 in my Relationship Tool Belt™, Self Love. You see, all GREAT RELATIONSHIPS BEGIN WITHIN!

Loving yourself might sound cliché, but it’s the most fundamental tool you can have in your belt! The way we take care of ourselves is automatically reflected in the relationships you choose. (Go ahead…think about it.) You aren’t nice to yourself—neither will he be. You verbally abuse yourself—so will he. You physically abuse yourself—so will he. You don’t listen to yourself—neither will he. Fortunately, the opposite is true as well. You love and adore yourself—so will he! So remember, if you want to know the kind of man you attract, just look in the mirror.

• Great Relationships Begin Within is a cultural mainstream invitation to become internally referenced. This subtle yet profound shift empowers individuals to take responsibility for their reality, ultimately leading to the alleviation of unnecessary suffering.

• Waking up, making the distinction between the false self/persona and the authentic self, is the natural next step for folks who want to continue on the track of attracting and creating healthy, fulfilling, sustainable relationships. That's why I created CORR®, a path of guided self-inquiry. You'll watch me teach one of my workshops for women, demonstrate assessment techniques, and have the chance to develop the tools I show you into skills that will last a lifetime.
